The HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) evaluates the effectiveness of EMR technology in improving clinical outcomes, patient engagement, and clinician utilization to enhance the overall performance and health outcomes for patient populations. Stage 7 represents the highest level of achievement in this model.
National Health Commission of China started the annotation of electronic medical record application levels since 2010. The scheme integrated quantitative scoring and overall classification. The quantitative part was descriptive assessment based on data requirements and avoided as much as possible the subjective influence from self-assessment and expert assessment. Of the scores of levels 0-8 (totally 9 levels), levels 0-2 were low stage, levels 3-5 were medium stage, and levels 6-8 were high stage.
Interconnection standardization maturity evaluation is organized and carried out by the Statistical Information Center of the National Health Commission of China. The evaluation results are an important basis and effective means for guiding the construction of regional health information, and can directly reflect the regions and medical institutions health management level. Level 5 Class B is the second highest accredition grade in the interconnection evaluation; the highest accreditation grade in Chinese medical institutions for now.
